“Seven years ago when I started the league no one thought that our national league concept would work,” said Johnson. At the time Johnson thought he needed investment so he could prove that the market was strong and viable. It became so frustrating that he abandoned the need for investors and sought out to fund the business himself.

Early in the venture Johnson was able to successfully win the hearts of a few sponsors that allowed him to make some significant headway toward scaling the business with teams nationally. For years, recreational leagues did not have to do much for its players except provide a ball, a couple of unlicensed game officials, and maybe throw in a league champs t-shirt. Not anymore, says Johnson. The CBL leverages NBA-like media technologies and prizes to enhance the experience and provide a professional feel for its players, fans, and sponsors alike.

This year the league went to a free team sign-up because they want more teams in or near the cities where they already have existing teams so teams can play up to thirty games. On January 5^th, 2015 the CBL launched its annual registration campaign and within two weeks the league was tracking around 20,000 players nationwide.

“It is exciting to see every year how the word about the CBL is spreading throughout the country, but due to the fact that we still don’t have investors or big brand name national sponsors, we are left needing help financially so we can support as many teams as possible and improve our overall operational infrastructure, which will allow for the league to run properly,” said Johnson.

Study Shows Great News For Seattle Seahawks Fans, Bud Light and Katy Perry

LIGHTNING RELEASES (1/28/2015)- It’s a few days before Super Bowl XLIX and 53.8% of people think that the Seattle Seahawks will repeat as NFL Champions.

This is according to 1,000 people surveyed regarding their thoughts on the NFL’s showcase game. This study, balanced according to gender, region and age, also shows that only 21% of the same people feel the game will be blowout.

If it is indeed a close game, that should please the major advertisers that spend $4.5 million on only 30 seconds of advertising time. That hefty price tag should come as quite a surprise to many people, as only 31.9% of those surveyed are aware of the massive cost to be seen by millions of people all over the world. 21.8% nailed the price right on the dot, with 10.1% believing it to be $5.5 million.

The companies that advertise probably wish the costs were below $3.5 million, which well over half the respondents believe. The safe bet for most entertaining commercial looks like it will be Bud Light or Doritos, coming in at 34% and 23.4% respectively.

The unfortunately ill-conceived puppy mill GoDaddy commercial was not publicly known when this study was fielded, which no doubt would have made the 5.7% choosing that company for best commercial much, much lower.

Since it’s only one Sunday a year, only 13.7% of people pick veggies and dip as their favorite Super Bowl snack. Chips and salsa/guacamole, wings and pizza account for 86.3% of the most desired foods during the big game.

38.9% of people plan on eating those foods at home, while 22.2% are going to a party to celebrate the occasion. Surprisingly, 12.1% of the people questioned say they do not plan on watching the Super Bowl at all.

Based on this information, the two main performers are going to be huge hits. 63.3% are excited about Katy Perry’s halftime performance. Even more people, 78.1%, are going to definitely watch Idina Menzel’s rendition of the National Anthem.

Why do almost half of women in the USA suffer from Adult Acne ?

LIGHTNING RELEASES (1/17/2015) – A study conducted at Massachusetts General Hospital found that 45per cent of women in their 20s are seriously affected by pimples. Almost half of U.S. woman aged between 21 and 30 suffer from clinical acne, the new study showed.

But this huge figure is more positive than the one determined by the University of Alabama in 2006. In that year the university’s findings stated that 50.9per cent of women in their 20s experience post-adolescent acne.

This positive reduction could very well be in part due to new treatment therapies that have come onto the market since 2006. One such program, advocated by many leading Dermatologists, is a treatment regime out of Australia called 28 Days to Clear Skin.

Leading dermatologist, Dr. Penny Adams, says this particular program is one of the better new programs around and is particularly suited to women above 20.

“There are several alternative new systems for use in treating acne”, say Dr Adams, “ but what I particularly like about this program is the way the system works so fast, virtually providing my clients with regenerated healthy skin in a 28 day period.”

28 Days to Clear Skin is a kit containing 4 different products, and while technically it is promoted for both male and females of all ages, Dr Adams says that in her opinion it suits more mature woman aged (20+) for one very obvious reason.

“The product really does work, but it certainly can be a bit daunting to use in the first 4-5 days when some redness appears and the cleanser tends to expose all the tiny Mila (small white pimples) hidden under the top layers of skin. This tends to turn off the young teenagers who don’t have the mental toughness to push through that first 4 day barrier.” she says.

“But almost 100% of my clients have had great results and they never look back once they get onto the product. I would thoroughly recommend it.”

Dr Adams says laser therapy is also popular with some of her clients but this also entails several days of reddening and the cost is not always in reach for some.

The new study also found that 26% of women aged 31 to 40 get pimples (not acne) and 12% of women aged 41 to 50 do also. While no single definitive cause has been determined, medical experts believe that among other things, adult acne can be partially attributed to a person’s diet.

Dr Jeanine Downie, a dermatologist from Montclair, New Jersey, says “Whenever hormones surge – around your period, when you’re pregnant, when you start or stop the Pill, and, yes, when you’re stressed or eat hormone-enhanced foods, i.e. non organic meat and dairy – skin changes can occur.”

Hormones can overstimulate a person’s oil glands which then results in the output of extra sebum, the oil that causes pimples. So a balanced diet, containing lean protein along with green leafy vegetables, high fibre cereals and plenty of fruits can go a long way to assisting with good skin. The old maxim to drink lots of water still holds true and the addition of a regime such as the 28 Days to Clear Skin program seems like it is becoming ever more popular.
