TTR to Attend, Sponsor and Present at the TeleStrategies Taxation Conference – May 13-15, Orlando, Florida

(McMinnville, OR, April 3, 2015) – TTR has announced their continued attendance and sponsorship for the 5th consecutive year at the TeleStrategies Taxation Conference – May 13-15, in Orlando, Florida, at the Disney Grand Floridian Hotel.

The TeleStrategies Taxation Conference has become the most popular event for tax professionals in the communications industry. Each year, this conference attracts over 300 attendees.

TTR will be presenting its popular “Telecom 201: Creating a World Class Transaction Tax Department – Increased Simplicity & Understanding” session in two parts, open to new and experienced telecom tax professionals alike. This conference walks through the “life-cycle” of a telecom tax department, specifically covering the principle areas of transaction taxes.

Part One focuses on the first two key areas within a tax department: (1) sales and billing systems, purchases and automation, and (2) general ledger set up. Solutions to billing system mapping/coding, tax on tax, and tax automation are presented, plus discussions of best practices in each area. Part Two continues the “life-cycle walk-through,” focusing on (3) compliance and (4) audits. In this sessions, solutions to tax compliance, bad debts, tax recovery, audit defense and best practices are presented in each area. Both sessions are open to discussion and Q&A.

By survey, this was one of the most popular and entertaining conferences at TeleStrategies last year. Telecom tax professionals return with the ability to easily communicate what gets done within their group to staff, managers and executives, as well as and identify areas of improvement.

The conference sessions will be led by Ms. Courtney Cherry, Director of Tax Policy & Research at TTR. In addition, there will be special guest speakers from Transaction Tax Consulting Group, LLC, a corporate tax recovery group that works with some of the largest Telecommunications companies in the United States, and was among the fastest growing companies in the U.S. over the past three years.

The special guest speakers from Transaction Tax Consulting Group include Ms. Diane Seidule – TTCG Managing Partner, and Mr. Robert Banagay – former State Tax Auditor and TTCG Partner.
