Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates in an interview Wednesday called the new approach to Windows “exciting,” adding: “Windows is core, so the breakthrough things they’ve done there. I’m excited to see the reaction.”
With the device, HoloLens, Microsoft is entering an increasingly crowded area, with giant competitors, in the world of virtual and augmented reality. Time can only tell if Microsoft can outmaneuver those companies, like Facebook and Google.
Meanwhile, big tech firms like Apple, Google and Facebook Inc. are racing against each other to place satellites in space, perfecting digital wallets and bring virtual reality to the world.
