How much did your last bad hire really cost you? According to Dalrymple, what a company pays in insurance premiums only represents the tip of the iceberg in regards to their Total Cost of Risk. Between the cost of the claim itself and the cost to hire and train a new employee, the total cost can be actually 10 times the size. If a company has a small $15,000 claim, by the time it’s all said and done, that claim probably cost them $50,000. If you’re a company with a five-percent profit margin, you’d have to sell $1 million in sales just to break even with your costs for that claim.


“That’s why it’s important to reduce risk,” says Dalrymple. “You’ve got to stretch yourself out that much more just to cover your losses.”

Couples Therapist Lu Ann Ahrens to be Featured on Close-Up Talk Radio

Riverside, CA – We now know through research that our brains are wired to be in relationships. We’re searching for connection. The last 10 years have seen huge breakthroughs in how important a healthy relationship with your spouse truly is.


Lu Ann Ahrens is a marriage and family therapist specializing in providing couples with the essential tools critical to sustain a secure relationship.


“Relationships have always mattered to me,” says Ahrens. “I see myself as a process consultant to help couples see what’s happening between them and give them the tools to change it. Ultimately they need to be the ones to take those steps to change.”


According to Ahrens, couples therapy is the more challenging types of therapy there is. Statistics show the average couple waits six or seven years before they ever go to counseling, so you can imagine what that couples brings with them to their first session. In fact, many therapists won’t even consider working with couples. Ahrens, by contrast, relishes the challenge.


“I love the energy of working with two sets of emotions in the room,” says Ahrens. “There’s nothing more rewarding for me than seeing a couple sitting at opposite ends of the couch who by the end of the session have found new hope for their relationship.”


In couples therapy, the relationship is the client; Ahrens’ job is to align with that relationship to help the couple change their dynamic. In session, Ahrens employs a type of therapy known as “emotionally-focused therapy” or EFT, which seeks to identify the emotional needs that drive the negative cycles that keeps couples stuck.


“’Are you there for me?’ Couples ask that question in a lot of different ways,” says Ahrens. “What we’re doing in session is teaching them how to express what they need in a way their partner can hear it. If they can begin to experience their spouse differently here, they’re going to go home and be more mindful of those patterns.”

Spanish Agent, An Erotic Spy Thriller

LIGHTNING RELEASES (1/13/2014) – Spanish Agent, follows the love and the turmoil of the relationship between Holly and Talin. Holly undoubtedly loves Talin, but her insecurities lead her to several trysts with young and older men. Talin, a lawyer, is recruited by the CIA. He flubs his first assignment, a simple conveyance of a young woman to a helicopter in northern Pennsylvania. Instead, the young woman felles and eventually drowns in her attempt to escape. Nonetheless, Talin is charged with recovering a microchip in southern France which he accomplishes with ease. He is now sent to Salamanca, Spain where a plot against the west is brewing. He makes the acquaintance of Aitor, a Spanish convert to Islam, who is recruited as part of the plot to blow up, it is thought, the American Embassy in Madrid. Aitor, however, canot stomah the idea of killing indiscriminately and is lead to help Talin in uncovering the tru nature of the plot, which, in fact, will take place in France. In the meanwhyile, Aitor’s daughter, is taken captive by the Islamists in an effort to enure his cooperation.


The final taut chapters of the novel deal with Talin’s attempt to decipher the meaning of the terrorists’ actions, undo the plot and free Aitor’s daughter.


It also deals with the unraveling of the intense relationship with Holly. Can they overcome their past indiscretions? Can Talin bring down the terrorist gang and save many, many lives in the process?

Ben Tankard – Thicker Than Water Posts 14 Million Viewers for Bravo TV. Second Season Chatter?

Second season chatter ?


LIGHTNING RELEASES (1/9/2014) – Last Sunday, Bravo earned it’s highest rated night EVER in network history. Some of the credit for that success is owed to the Season 1 finale of Bravo’s new series Thicker Than Water, which earned season-high ratings with 2.3 million total viewers. This helped push the freshman series to almost 14 million total viewers on the season, a record for Bravo Media. To put these numbers in perspective, Thicker Than Water beat out Season 1 of Vanderpump Rules, Married To Medicine, Newlyweds: The First Year and Below Deck. All of which were picked up for second seasons. Heck, 1.8 million total viewers is about the same as what The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 8 averaged. So, will Thicker Than Water be greenlit for a second season? I’d say a slam dunk without a doubt!!!


Granted, some of Thicker Than Water’s success is due to it’s prime Sunday night slot with The Real Housewives of Atlanta as a lead-in, but I think there was most definitely some really good entertaining stuff going on there in the Tankard ” Palace “. I have to say that I was sold on the Tankards pretty much from episode 1. To me, they brought just the right mix of likeability and controversy. Jewel hosting her Millionairess book club meetings and repeating affirmations about growing her net worth into the mirror every morning was just zany enough to be endearing. Ben, who is a former pro basketball player turned millionaire Grammy nominated GospelJazz music legend and volunteer senior Pastor, preaching about how God wants everyone in his church to be rich ruffled a lot of feathers but then we see him put his money where his mouth is by handing out $100 bills to members of his congregation as an illustration of why God wants us all wealthy. He has given away several vehicles in his community and his philanthropy extends off screen with partnerships with several charities including St.Jude Children’s Hospital. Come on, how many times do you get to see a black pilot fly his own airplane on TV? The Tankards inspired us to dream again.


All of the “kids” were entertaining in their own ways too as they navigate through sibling spats while working to develop business ventures so they could afford to move out of the “big house of rules”. With 5 children, two daughter-in-laws, one grandchild and a housekeeper (oops, I mean house manager ), what really shone through the season overall was how much love all of those Tankards really seem to have for each other. Sure, they work hard and are all about being successful, but it’s impressive to see how well they’ve blended their two families with the boldness to allow us to watch as they try to figure it all out : the good, the bad, and the ugly. Fans on twitter applauded Bravo for highlighting a wealthy African American family in a good light with a responsible father figure. ‘Thicker’ has been called everything good from The Black Brady Bunch to The Cosbys of Reality TV.


So, overall it’s a safe bet that we’ll be seeing more of the Tankards in Season 2 of Thicker Than Water. Per usual, the networks always will remain tightlipped until they make their own announcements, but I would say Bravo / NBC Universal has a winner for many seasons to come with Ben Tankard and his ” mass choir “. Can I get an Amen ?
